OUR STORY

We started Liquid Lifestyles® to share our love of swimming with others and to create a better way to teach it—one that’s personal, focused, and built around the individual.

Swimming isn’t just a sport or a survival skill. It is life-changing! Swimming builds confidence, self-reliance, and friendships. It teaches discipline, resilience, and the value of consistent effort. In an increasingly digital world, swimming is refreshingly real—it can’t be done through a screen. It demands presence, effort, and growth.

Whether for safety, fitness, or fun, learning to swim is one of the most rewarding journeys a person can take. We’re here to guide that journey—one swimmer at a time.

BIG IDEAS in a backyard pool

Leah began teaching swim lessons in her parents’ backyard pool when she was just 15 years old. Her first clients were younger swimmers who wanted to follow in her footsteps to become an accomplished competitive swimmer.

Her high school coaches instilled in her a deep love for the sport. Their encouragement, generosity, and emphasis on technique-driven training and purposeful practice not only fueled her personal success but also sparked her passion for coaching.

She didn’t know it then, but those early backyard lessons were the beginning of something much bigger. By her third summer, word had spread—happy swimmers and grateful parents turned her family’s pool into the go-to spot for summer lessons. The program continued to grow each year while she attended Miami University.

After graduating in 2004, Leah decided to take the plunge and turn her passion into a profession. Liquid Lifestyles was born.

expert coachEs & real connections

As Liquid Lifestyles grew, Leah surrounded herself with coaches who shared her belief that great instruction begins with real connections and a deep understanding of how people learn.

Our team is made up of experienced educators, accomplished athletes, and passionate mentors. Many come from backgrounds in competitive swimming, triathlon, physical education, or child development. What unites them is a commitment to teaching with clarity, patience, and purpose.

We don’t just put swimmers through drills—we teach them how and why swimming works. Our coaches break down complex movements into simple, learnable steps that swimmers can feel, understand, and repeat. Every lesson is focused, encouraging, and built around the needs of the individual.

Whether a swimmer is nervous about putting their face in the water or training for competition, our coaches meet them where they are—and help them move forward with confidence.

swimming simplified.

At Liquid Lifestyles®, we believe swimming should make sense. That’s why our approach is rooted in biomechanics, body awareness, and intentional movement—not just repetition for repetition’s sake.

But here’s where we really stand out: we believe in working smarter, not harder. Traditional methods often reinforce struggle—pushing swimmers to power through instead of truly understanding. We do the opposite. Our process-driven strategy builds efficiency, conserves energy, and develops swim intelligence from the inside out.

This approach doesn’t just apply to competitive athletes—it’s the foundation of our children’s program as well. We’ve reverse-engineered the elements that make elite swimmers successful and translated them into age-appropriate progressions. Each stage is tailored to match children’s cognitive development, fine and gross motor skills, and attention spans. Instead of rushing milestones or pushing performance, we focus on building skills that stick—starting with body position, breath control, and relaxed movement through the water.

We help swimmers replace instinct with confidence. Instead of fighting the water, they learn to move with it. As clarity and control grow, so does confidence. Common swimming struggles—like breathing, sinking legs, or fatigue—become manageable, even fixable, with smart, focused instruction.

Whether you’re learning to swim for the first time or refining your technique, we meet you where you are and guide you forward—one thoughtful stroke at a time. When swimmers understand the why, progress comes faster, results last longer, and the water becomes a place of calm, not confusion.

That’s swimming, simplified.
