Liquid Lifestyles is one of the only swim companies in the Cleveland area that specializes in swim lessons for adults. We can help you perfect your stroke or help you get comfortable in water even if you never swam before or are nervous in and around water.
We do not have a one-size-fits all curriculum. We adapt our curriculum to your comfort and skill level and progress as quickly or slowly as necessary to help you build the skills to enjoy swimming for a lifetime. Before getting started, it is helpful for us to know where you are now in your swimming journey so we know where in the skill progression to begin. Please review the LEVEL information below to determine which starting point is right for you. No matter where you start, your lessons will progress at your pace and take you as far as you want to go.
Our Private Lessons meet on a recurring weekly basis. Once you book a Private Lesson, our staff will manually enroll you into all future lessons that meet at same weekly day and time. Your lesson schedule will remain the same until you cancel or transfer. SINGLE LESSONS may also be purchased at checkout
One-Day, Weekend or 5-Week CLINICS are offered as an alternative to private lessons. Clinic schedules listed below.
There are 4 Adult Levels. Which one is right for me?
Square One
This level is for adult who are anxious or afraid in and around water and who are uncomfortable going under water or in deep water.
These lessons in taught in the shallow area of the deep pool and the instructor remains in the water with you at all times.
Students will learn to how to become comfortable in water and to move smoothly and independently across short distances.
Through guided discovery exercises and hands-on instruction, our coaches will introduce relaxed breathing techniques and basic balance positions so you can experience weightlessness and relaxation in AND under the surface.
PREREQUISITES:
Fear or anxiety around water and/or uncomfortable going underwater
No experience floating or moving through the water independently
Uncomfortable in deep water
GOAL: COMFORT
Guided discovery drills to examine & overcome fears
Relaxed breathing techniques in and under the water
Effortless front and back floats
Introduction to basic self-propulsion techniques
Independent, short-distance swims at and below the surface
Beginner Basics
This level will help you gain confidence in deeper water! Through step-by-step drills, you will learn breathing, balance and propulsive techniques that can be utilized in ANY depth of water.
These lessons is taught in the deep pool and the coach will be in the water with you to support and encourage you every step of the way!
Students will learn safe and sustainable deep water treading.
A sequential drill progression will teach you a whole-body safety stroke that will have you swimming with confidence and will open the doors to a lifetime of possibilities in the water!
PREREQUISITES:
Comfortable in and under the water
Able to swim short distances (either head up or head underwater)
Uncomfortable in deep water / unable to tread water
GOAL: INDEPENDENCE
Increase breath control and comfort in any depth of water
Develop deep water self-rescue and water safety techniques
Refinement of basic balancing positions and self-propulsion techniques
Introduction to sustainable whole-body movements and independent breathing sequences
Elementary backstroke
Four Stroke Fundamentals
Swim for fitness, for fun, for life! Gain confidence and increase your overall satisfaction in the water with a broad spectrum of new swim progressions. Using a variety of training techniques we will guide you through the basic drill progressions and stroke mechanics of Freestyle, Backstroke, Elementary Backstroke and Breaststroke. Combined, these skills will offer new and exciting challenges and be a welcomed addition in your workout design.
These lessons are taught in the deep pool and the coach will remain on deck.
PREREQUISITES:
Comfortable underwater and in deep water
Can sustainably tread water (eyes and ears above)
Can independently swim 25+ yards (any stroke/style)
Demonstrates comfort on the back
GOAL: ENDURANCE
Learn basic short-axis and long-axis drill progressions; Freestyle, Backstroke, Elementary Backstroke, Breaststroke
Heightened body awareness and self-critique
Improved balance, symmetry and range of motion across all muscular systems
Next Level Freestyle
For fitness swimmers or triathletes serious about improving freestyle stroke mechanics and increasing overall efficiency, control, and speed in the water.
This curriculum will progress using our proven drill progression that focuses on the fundamental swimming principles of balance, length, rotation and timing.
These lessons are taught in the deep pool and the coach will remain on deck.
PREREQUISITES:
Can comfortably swim 100+ yards continuously (freestyle)
Can swim underwater
Comfortable in deep water
Interested in improving FREESTYLE efficiency and speed
GOAL: IMPROVED FREESTYLE
Develop proper Freestyle techniques
Increase efficiency and speed
Translate rotational power into forward motion.
Integrate bilateral breathing techniques and timing
Heightened body awareness and self-critique
